Premier League: Altice (MCS, SFR, Numericable) has acquired the 2016-2019 TV rights in France

Altice, a Dutch holding of telecommunications groups and cable operators, has acquired the 2016-2019 broadcasting rights, in France, to the Barclays Premier League, the group announced on 26/11/2015. Altice will the French pay-TV group Canal+, the broadcaster of the Premier League in France without interruption since 2006, and until the end of the 2015-16 season.

Altice will pay more than €300m to the Premier League for the 2016-2019 cycle, according to the French media outlet Les Echos. This 58% more than Canal+ pays during the 2013-2016 period (estimate: €190m). "The official announcements for the allocation of TV rights for the countries of Western Europe should occur before the end of next week (04/12/2015)," said Les Echos regarding the international rights of the Premier League.

Altice is owned by the Franco-Israeli businessman Patrick Drahi.
