Russia 2018: "Due to world circumstances special emphasis should be put on security" (V. Mutko)

"We realize that due to the circumstances in the world special emphasis should be put on security. We discussed this topic in detail, and the colleagues from FIFA asked us to give a special focus on FIFA Fan Fests in this regard. This is under special control," said Vitaly Mutko, the president of the LOC (Local Organising Committee) for the 2018 World Cup, after a meeting of the board of the entity, in the presence of FIFA representatives, in Moscow (RUS) on 24/11/2015. Vitaly Mutko is also a member of the FIFA Executive Committee and the Russian Minister of Sports.

This meeting aimed to take stock of all the work being done in Russian stadiums hosting the 2018 World Cup (14/06 to 15/07/2018) and discuss preparations for the 2017 Confederations Cup, organised in Russia from 17/06 to 02/07/2017.
