Premier League TV rights in France: "A big step for Altice's investment strategy" (Nicolas Rotkoff)

This is another big step for Altice's investment strategy to provide the best in class TV content and broadband packages to its customers across the world," said Nicolas Rotkoff, the CEO of Altice's entertainment and sports division, on 26/11/2015.

Altice, the Dutch holding of telecommunications groups and cable operators, confirmed having acquired the 2016-2019 broadcasting rights to the Barclays Premier League in France and Monaco, on 26/11/2015. "Fixed and Mobile customers of Altice and affiliates in France and Monaco, will be able to watch live, anywhere, on any device and in 4K, all the 380 games between England’s top tier teams. The contract runs for the next three seasons, starting in August 2016," stated Altice. The company should pay more than €300m to the Premier League for the 2016-2019 cycle, according to the French daily Les Echos, or 58% more than that Canal+ pays during 2013-2016 cycle (estimate: €190m)…
