Chile: Fox ends negotiations for the purchase of Canal del Fútbol, beIN Sports and Turner remain

The US broadcaster FIC (Fox International Channels) withdrew from negotiations for the acquisition of all or part of "Canal del Fútbol", a pay-TV channel which broadcasts the Chilean professional football competitions, on 26/11/2015.
The channel, launched in 2003, is the property of the ANFP (Chilean Professional Football League, 80% stake) and the company Gestión de Televisión, owned by the Chilean businessman Jorge Claro Mimica.

"Although we believe that a partnership between our two organisations is the best solution for Chilean football, we consider that at this moment, the necessary conditions are not present to evaluate and to advance with the negotiation in a responsible way," said FIC in a letter to Jaime Baeza, the new president of the FFC (Chilean Football Federation) and ANFP, as well as members of the Evaluation Committee of the Chilean League charged the sale of "Canal del Fútbol".
