LaLiga: Lots 5 (Telefonica) and 6 (beIN Sports) of TV rights awarded for €2.65bn over 3 years

The pay-TV group DTS acquired Lot 5 of the tender for the domestic audiovisual rights to the Liga BBVA 2016-2019 cycle, for €750m over the period, while Mediapro acquired Lot 6 for €1.9bn over the three seasons, announced LaLiga on 02/12/2015. These two lots will yield €2.65bn over three season for LaLiga, or an average of €883m per season, which is already 42.4% higher than the amount received by LaLiga for 2015-16 (€620m; €600m from Telefonica and €20m from RTVE).

The Spanish Professional Football League proceeded, on 02/12/2015, to analyse the bids made for the 10 lots of audiovisual rights announced on 13/11/2015. Only bids made on Lots 5 and 6 exceeded the fixed reserve price, and were awarded, along with Lot 8. The other seven lots will be awarded in various ways (see below), to be decided shortly by the Control Authority in charge of the management of the audiovisual rights of LaLiga.
