2.Bundesliga: Umbro to replace adidas as the kit supplier of 1. FC Nürnberg from 2016-17

The British brand Umbro will replace adidas as the official equipment supplier of 1. FC Nürnberg (2.Bundesliga) from the 2016-17 season and until the 2020-21 season, announced the Bavarian club on 03/12/2015. The partnership was negotiated by Sportfive Germany.

Umbro will pay an estimated amount of €1m per year according to German media, with the possibility of added bonuses. The brand also receives the club's marketing rights for its communication, advertising visibility and media platforms, as well as hospitality places at Grundig Stadion (50,000 seats).

1. FC Nürnberg will become the first German club to be equipped by Umbro, since the return of the brand into the football market. The supplier wants to capitalise on its history with the club. Umbro provided the equipment of the club during the season in which Nürnberg were German Champions in 1968. Several former players from the 1967-68 season were present at the formalisation of the new partnership.
