"In the arbitration procedure between Michel Platini (FRA) and FIFA, the CAS has invited both parties’ counsel to attend a preliminary hearing in the afternoon of 8 December 2015, limited to the issue as to whether or not the provisional 90-day suspension imposed on Mr. Platini should be temporarily lifted," announced the Court of Arbitration for Sport on 07/12/2015.

Michel Platini, UEFA president since 2007, was suspended for 90 days on 08/10/2015 by the FIFA Ethics Committee. He is accused of having received, from FIFA on 01/02/2011, "2 million Swiss francs (about €1.54m at the time of payment), allegedly for work performed between January 1999 and June 2002", according Swiss Justice, which has opened a criminal case against Joseph Blatter on 25/09/2015.

Michel Platini appealed to the CAS to lift the temporary suspension. "A decision on such request for a stay is likely to be issued on Friday 11/12/2015, at the latest. The decision will be announced on the CAS website and by media release," stated the court, based in Lausanne (SUI), on 07/12/2015.
