"Our mission is to provide a platform to inform and help educate people on environmental issues, and to help sports stakeholders to reduce their carbon footprint by reducing energy consumption, water usage and reducing their waste production. We also want to use the platform of sports to educate the supply chain and help it adopt environmentally better practices, products and services," said Allen Hershkowitz, president of the American NGO Green Sports Alliance, to News Tank Football on 07/12/2015.

"This educational work is based on sports, not through environmental groups. Through our work with the MLB and the NHL, we are getting them to ask their suppliers for more carbon intelligent products and services. And that had a big effect on the chain of supply. And then the collaboration with the leagues and franchises allows us to reach tens of millions of their fans," said Hershkovitz, who was ranked the 50^th most influential person in the sports industry by the American magazine Sports Business Journal on 07/12/2015.
