England: Greg Clarke to step down as chairman of the Football League after the 2015-16 season

Greg Clarke, chairman of the Sky Bet Football League has announced his intention to stand down from the position at the end of the current 2015-16 season, in statement made on 09/12/2015. "I leave with the Football League in excellent health and with solid foundations in place," said Clarke.

This means the current 2015-16 season will be the last of five seasons in which Clarke, a former chief executive of Cable & Wireless, a British telecommunications firm, and former director of Leicester City FC (Barclays Premier League), has been both the executive and non-executive chairman of the 72-club Football League.
