France: "2 promotions/relegations and a play-off for 2015-16, impossible!" (N. Graët, FFF)

"If the French Council of State (high court) rules it's two (promotions and relegations between Ligue 1 and Ligue 2), it will be two. If it rules it's three, it will be three. Two + one (play-off) this year is impossible," said Noël Le Graët, the president of the FFF, on 10/12/2015.

"The FFF has proposed two promotions/demotions and a play-off from the 2016-17 season. Let's set up this system for the current season, 2015-16. This proposal was adopted by the League's Board of Directors," said Frederic Thiriez, the president of the French LFP, on 11/12/2015.

"The League did not vote (on the "2+1" proposal). The League informed the press that it had voted on the proposal, but there was no vote," stated Noël Le Graët, during the press conference on 10/12/2015, at which time he also announced that the French international Karim Benzema (Real Madrid CF), indicted in the blackmail case of the French international Mathieu Valbuena (Olympique Lyonnais), "is no longer available for selectable to the France team" until further notice.
