Euro 2016: €301m in total to be distributed to the 24 participating teams, with €27m for the winner

UEFA will award a total of €27m to the winner of Euro 2016, the final of which will be played at the Stade de France, on 10/07/2016, announced UEFA after the meeting of its Executive Committee in Paris on 11/12/2015. Spain received €23.5m as winners of the 2012 tournament.

Each of the 24 qualified teams will receive €8m for participating in the tournament. During the group stage, a victory will earn €1m and a defeat €500,000. Then from the knockout stage, these victory bonuses will be replaced by a bonus of €1.5m for each team in the round of 16, then €2.5m for the quarter-finalists and €4m for the semi-finalists. Finally, the winner will receive €8m and the runner-up €5m.

In total, €301m will be divided amongst the 24 participants, compared to €196m in 2012 and €184m in 2008, however, these two tournaments only included 16 teams.
