Liverpool FC (Barclays Premier League) have launched a German version of its Twitter account (LFC_Deutsch), on 09/12/2015. The launch of this account follows the arrival of Jürgen Klopp (GER) as manager of the club, which has caused a strong increase in digital traffic from Germany since his appointment on 08/10/2015.

"The club has a fantastic supporter base in Germany and it is no surprise that since the arrival of our manager, the relationship with our German community continues to grow. Our new German-language Twitter feed will bring that news direct to the fans in their own language," said Matthew Baxter, media director at Liverpool FC.

German is the 14th official Liverpool FC Twitter account in a foreign language, which is a record among the clubs in the Top 5 European leagues. In total, the club has 28 official Twitter accounts (some in English, but with specific content for a particular country, one for the club Foundation, one for the women's team, and more), which is also a record.
