The Belgian cable operator and telecommunications group Telenet has extended its exclusive deal for the exclusive distribution of rights to the Barclays Premier League in Belgium, until 2018-19, on 11/12/2015. No financial details were disclosed.

The premium channels Play Sports broadcast five Premier League matches live on average on each Matchday of the championship, in 2015-16. The other matches are broadcast in the form of extended highlights. The same distribution model will be retained for the 2016-2019 cycle.

During the 2013-2016 cycle, Telenet operated the broadcasting rights for the English Premier League in the Flanders region (northern Belgium) and sold them via a sublicence to the telecommunications group VOO to distribute them in the Wallonia region (southern Belgium) and in the Brussels region (via the pay-TV channels Be Sport tv). The renewal of this deal for the 2016-2019 cycle has not yet been activated.
