FIFA: "These proceedings remind me of the Inquisition," wrote Blatter in a letter to the federations

"The way in which the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee has communicated on the current proceedings, demanded the maximum penalty and reinforced public prejudgement has reached a tendentious and dangerous dimension. These proceedings remind me of the Inquisition," wrote Joseph Blatter, FIFA president, in a letter to the 209 national federations affiliated to the International Federation, on 14/12/2015.

Joseph Blatter (SUI) forward this letter to all of the National Federations three days before his hearing by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee in Zurich (SUI), on Thursday, 17/12/2015. The FIFA president was suspended for a period of 90 days from any activity in football by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee on 08/10/2015. This body, which received the report of the investigatory chamber on 21/11/2015, said on 23/11/2015, that it would endeavour to announce the final decisions on the cases of Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini in December 2015.
