Coupe de la Ligue: the 2016-20 rights are awarded to France Télévisions and Canal+ for €23.9m/year

The steering committee of the tender for the domestic broadcasting rights for the Coupe de la Ligue (French League Cup) has awarded the pay-TV rights for the 2016-2020 cycle to the pay-TV group Canal+ and the public free-TV rights to the broadcasting group France Télévisions, on 16/12/2015.

Both media groups will jointly pay €23.9m per season to the LFP during the 2016-2020 cycle, almost 2.4 times more than France Télévisions paid for the same rights during the 2012-2016 cycle (€10m per year), the League confirmed to News Tank, on 16/12/2015.

The entire League Cup will be broadcast on the channels of the Canal+ group and the most prestigious fixture in each round from the round of 16 until the final will be broadcast on the free-TV channels France 2 or France 3. In France, the broadcasting rights for the Coupe de la Ligue had been held by France Télévisions since the 1997-98 season.

The Board of Directors of the LFP must ratify the agreement on 17/12/2015
