Copa America Centenario: the final of the competition at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 26/06/2016

The final of the 2016 Copa America Centenario will be played at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (82,500 seats), near New York City, announced CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and the local organising committee of the competition, on 16/12/2015. The final of this special edition of the Copa America (South American continental cup), to celebrate the 100^th anniversary of CONMEBOL and the competition itself, will be held on Sunday 26/06/2016.

Built in 2010, the MetLife Stadium is co-owned by the New York Giants and New York Jets, the two NFL franchises of New York City. Since its construction, the stadium has hosted several international football matches, including matches of the US national team against Brazil (0-2, 08/08/2010) and Argentina (1-1, 26/03/2011). The synthetic turf of MetLife Stadium should be covered with natural grass for the Copa America Centenario.
