On 27/05/2013, Crystal Palace and Watford will go head-to-head at Wembley Stadium for a place in the Premier League and a jackpot worth up to £120m (€140m).

The winning side is guaranteed at least £63m (€73.6m), the sum allocated to last place in the Premier League under new TV rights contracts that cover the 2013-2016 period.

Relegation from the Premier League guarantees another £59m (€69m) in future parachute payments, to be spread over the next four seasons in installments of £23m (€27m), £18m (€21m) and two of £9m (€10.5m).

  • The two London clubs have a similar turnover, which the most recent accounts put at around £11m (€13m) for Watford and £15m (€17.5m) for Crystal Palace.

  • Out of the last 10 play-off winners, 4 have gone on to survive in the Premier League the next season
