"We will appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee, and we also go before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. I am a Swiss citizen, so I also will appeal to the courts of my country," said Joseph Blatter, FIFA president in Zurich (Switzerland) on 21/12/2015.

Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini, UEFA president, were suspended by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Commission for a term of eight years from any football-related activity (administrative, sports, etc.) at a national and international level, on 21/12/2015. The Swiss has been found guilty of conflict of interest and mismanagement, for his role in a payment of 2 million Swiss francs (€1.54m at the time of payment in February 2011) made to Michel Platini on behalf of FIFA, for work allegedly performed between January 1999 and June 2002.

"I am really sorry. I am sorry that I am still a punching-ball. And I'm sorry for FIFA. I have served them for more than 40 years," said Joseph Blatter on 21/12/2015.
