Spain: Mediapro offers its future channel "beIN Sports La Liga" to different Spanish operators

The Spanish broadcaster Mediapro has launched a tender for the distribution of its future pay-TV channel beIN Sports La Liga, on 18/12/2015. All interested Spanish operators must submit their bids to Mediapro by 11/01/2016. The tender concerns the distribution for the 2016-2019 cycle.

"beIN Sports seeks, as always, to distribute its content via the largest number of available platforms and at the lowest possible prices for customers," said Mediapro, which owns the channel beIN Sports in Spain through a joint-venture with the Qatari broadcaster beIN Media Group. All pay-TV operators can distribute future channel, whatever their mode of transmission: satellite, cable, ADSL, IPTV, DTT, etc.

Mediapro acquired Lot 6 of the tender for the domestic audiovisual rights to the Liga BBVA in the 2016-2019 cycle, for €1.9bn over three seasons, on 02/12/2015: beIN Sports La Liga will broadcast exclusively, from 2016-17, eight matches of each matchday of the Spanish first division, including one match featuring Real Madrid CF or FC Barcelona.
