Matchday 17 of the 2015-16 Bundesliga drew an average of 45,696 spectators per match from 18 to 20/12/2015. The average attendance of the German championship is 43 363 spectators per match for the 2015-16 season, a 93% stadium fill rate.

The match between FC Schalke 04 and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (1-0) drew the best crowd of the matchday, with 60,749 spectators at Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen. Seven of the nine games recorded an attendance higher than 40,000 spectators. In total, the nine Bundesliga games welcomed 411,263 fans, a record for the 2015-16 season.
