Matchday 16 of the 2015-16 Liga BBVA drew an average of 30,510 spectators per match on 19 and 20/12/2015. The average attendance of the championship is currently 27,824 spectators per match in 2015-16, for a stadium fill rate of 69%.

The Madrid derby Real Madrid CF - Rayo Vallecano (10-2) drew the best crowd of the matchday with 61,564 spectators at the Santiago Bernabeu. Granada CF - Celta Vigo (0-2) drew the lowest crowd of the weekend, with 14,537 spectators.

The Matchday 16 fixture Sporting Gijon - FC Barcelona was postponed to 17/02/2015, due to Barcelona's participation in the 2015 Club World Cup in Japan. The Catalan club won the final of this competition at the International Stadium (72,000 seats) in Yokohama, defeating the Argentine club CA River Plate 3-0 on 20/12/2015.
