Brazil: Canadian brand Dryworld replaces adidas as kit supplier of Fluminense from the 2016 season

The Canadian brand Dryworld will replace adidas as the official kit supplier of Fluminense FC (Chevrolet Brasileirão Série A) from the 2016 season, the club announced on 30/12/2015.

adidas had extended its contract with the Rio de Janeiro club until 2020 on 28/05/2014. The partnership, which began in 1996, was then terminated by Fluminense in December 2015. The club are expected to receive three million reais (€0.68m) in compensation from the German group, according to the Brazilian media.

Dryworld will pay an annual 13.5 million reais (€3.1m) over five seasons (2016-2020). The old contract with adidas was for a total of 4.5 million reais (€1.03m) per season, but included royalties from the sale of club shirts and derivative products and was therefore larger than that of the Dryworld contract. On average, 300,000 Fluminense shirts are sold per season. Dryworld will also become the kit supplier of Atlético Mineiro (Chevrolet Brasileirão Serie A) -- runners-up in the 2015 Brazilian top division -- and are currently in talks with Botafogo FR, the Serie B champions in 2015.
