Xavier Daniel (45 years old), director of public affairs and relations with the host cities of EURO 2016 SAS, has died, following a long illness, on the night of 02 to 03/01/2016, announced the company responsible for the organisation of Euro 2016, on 04/01/2016.

"Xavier joined the French Professional Football League in 2001. Two years later, he was behind the creation of the Stadium Services division in the sporting activities department. In a few years, he became one of the leading experts in the construction, development and management of stadiums in Europe and worldwide. He also became a spokesperson and a valued advisor for professional clubs. It is for this reason that the LFP recommended him to work on the Euro 2016 bid (in 2009)," said Jacques Lambert, president of EURO 2016 SAS on 04/01/2016.

Xavier Daniel was the first employee of the EURO 2016 SAS organising company, founded in March 2011.
