FIFA: Ethics Committee informs Blatter and Platini of the reasons for its decisions made in December

"The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee chaired by Mr Hans-Joachim Eckert has notified Mr Joseph S. Blatter and Mr Michel Platini of the grounds for the decisions passed in December 2015," said FIFA on 09/01/2016.

Joseph Blatter and Michel Platini were suspended for eight years from any activity in football by the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee on 21/12/2015.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has fulfilled its commitment to provide the grounds for the respective decisions to Mr Blatter and Mr Platini within the first half of January 2016 as they had previously been informed. After receiving the grounds for the decisions, both officials may lodge an appeal with the FIFA Appeal Committee," added the international federation.

Michel Platini will file his appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee on 11/01/2016, his legal team confirmed to News Tank Football on 10/01/2016.

Joseph Blatter will also appeal, announced his US lawyer Richard Cullen to the Agence France Presse on 10/01/2016.
