Portugal: Sporting Clube sell its TV rights and sponsorship to telecom group NOS for €446m

Sporting Clube de Portugal (Liga NOS) have sold its media rights (2018-2028), the exploitation of static and virtual advertising space at the Estádio José Alvalade (50,095 seats, also for 2018-2028), the broadcasting and distribution rights to its Sporting TV channel (2017-2029) and its main shirt sponsorship rights (from 01/01/2016 until the end of the 2027-28 season) to the Portuguese audiovisual group NOS Lusomundo Audiovisuais, a subsidiary of the telecommunications group NOS, stated the Lisbon club on 29/12/2015.

The value of the contract, which covers a total period of 13 and a half years, will reach €446m (€33m per year on average), said the NOS group to the CMVM, the Portuguese Commission for Securities Market, on 29/12/2015. The Sporting media rights cover the broadcasting, on television and on digital platforms, of the domestic home games of the Portuguese league club.
