"The International Football Association Board working group has announced its support for new tests to take place in the field of video assistance for referees. If this is confirmed at the plenary meeting of the IFAB in March, the FFF will be volunteer itself as a candidate for the new video testing," said Eric Borghini, Executive Committee member of the FFF in charge of referees, 09/01/2016.

These tests "could bring positive developments in our game," added Eric Borghini.

The Executive Committee of the IFAB "strongly recommended" allowing the video assistance for referees on an experimental basis to be proposed at the 130th annual meeting of the International Football Association Board (in Cardiff, WAL, from 04 to 06/03/2016), announced FIFA following the annual business meeting of the IFAB held at the Royal Garden in London (ENG) on 07/01/2016.
