Liga BBVA: SD Eibar open a fan club in China, the club's seventh overseas and the first in Asia

SD Eibar (Liga BBVA) have launched the "Peña EibarCN" in China, their first fan club in Asia, announced the club on 11/01/2016. SD Eibar have a total of 17 "peñas" (fan clubs), including seven in foreign countries: USA, Cyprus, Poland, Mexico, Israel, France and China. These foreign fan clubs were opened in 2015.

The president of the Peña EibarCN, which has 20 members, is the Chinese Liu Yuxiang, a shareholder in the club. Since 2014, SD Eibar have had more than 10,000 shareholders in 69 countries. While its capital was only €422,253 in 2013-14, the Basque club launched a website (www.defiendealeibar.com), on 09/04/2014, where the club's shares could be bought for €50 each. The goal was to increase the club's dedicated capital by €1,724,272 and reach the minimum amount required (€2,146,525) for an SAD (sociedad anonima deportiva, the Spanish equivalent of a professional sports limited company), otherwise the club would not have been promoted to the Liga BBVA in 2014-15.
