France: TF1 and beIN Sports share the broadcasting rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups

The broadcasting groups TF1 and beIN Sports France have announced that they have acquired the broadcasting rights in France for the 2018 World Cup (in Russia) and 2022 World Cup (Qatar) from FIFA, on 14/01/2016.

The beIN Sports pay-TV channels will broadcast both of these two World Cups, including 36 of the 64 matches exclusively. The remaining 28 matches (the three best fixtures in the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, the third place play-off and final) will be co-broadcast with the private free-TV channel TF1. The rights cover TV, IPTV, Internet and mobile platforms.

TF1 also announced that it has acquired the broadcasting rights in France to the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup (Russia) and the 2019 Women's World Cup, which will be held in France.

No financial details were disclosed by either TF1 or beIN Sports France.
