FIFA: Bernard Lama supports Jérôme Champagne and calls on the Caribbean countries to vote for him

Bernard Lama, former French international goalkeeper, world champion in 1998 and current vice-president of the League of Guyana, has announced his support for Jérôme Champagne, a candidate for president of FIFA, on 14/01/2016.

"I firmly believe that the determination of Mr. Champagne, and his experience and professionalism are what FIFA needs," said Bernard Lama (52 years old), who sent a letter to the presidents and general secretaries of the member federations the CFU (Caribbean Football Union) to call for a vote in favour of Jérôme Champagne in the elections for the successor to Joseph Blatter, to be held in Zurich (Switzerland) on 26/02/2016. The CFU has 25 Caribbean member federations of FIFA (+ six federations not affiliated to FIFA, including Guyana). These federations are also members of the CONCACAF confederation, which brings together the 35 member federations of FIFA from North America, Central and the Caribbean.
