The inaugural match at the newly refurbished Stadium de Toulouse will be played between Toulouse FC - Paris Saint-Germain FC (Ligue 1, Matchday 21, kick-off at 17:00) in the presence of Patrick Kanner, the French minister for the city, youth and sports, and Jean-Luc Moudenc, the mayor of Toulouse, on Saturday 16/01/2016. Around 350 personalities from the French political, economic and cultural world will be invited to the event, which will conclude with a fireworks display and the broadcast of a film on the history of the stadium.

The Ile du Ramier stadium, which underwent work for Euro 2016, now has an official capacity of 33,150 seats, compared to 36,500 seats before the project. The main goals of the refurbishment, which started on 27/05/2013, were the modification of the stands, removing pits and the replacement of lower tiers to raise the slope at the sides of the pitch, a legacy of the former velodrome demolished in 1984. A total of 22,500 seats were destroyed and rebuilt. The work, initially estimated at €41.5m VAT, experience additional costs evaluated between €5m and €9m.
