The FA is organising the first edition of the "Emirates FA Cup Gaming Tournament", a video game tournament to be held at Wembley Stadium (90,000 seats), in London, announced the English Federation on 08/01/2016.

Recruitment for the tournament, which has already begun, will continue until 18/03/2016 on the site EveryGamersAdventure.com. 64 players will be chosen to participate in the tournament. The early rounds will take place in symbolic areas of Wembley Stadium such as the Royal Box, the dressing rooms and the players' tunnel. The two finalists will compete in the centre circle of the pitch using the big screens of the stadium. The winner will receive a VIP invitation to the final of the Emirates FA Cup, to be held at Wembley on 21/05/2016.

The airline Emirates obtained the naming rights of the FA Cup for three seasons, from 2015-16 to 2017-18, in May 2015. The contract is valued at £30m (€39.9m), or £10m (€13.3m) per season.
