adidas: Kasper Rorsted (Henkel) replaces Herbert Hainer as CEO of the German brand

The Dane Kasper Rorsted, CEO of Henkel the manufacturer of consumer goods, replaced Herbert Hainer as CEO of adidas on 10/01/2016, the group announced on 18/01/2016. Rorsted (53 years old) had been the CEO of Henkel since 2008.

He will join the board of the adidas Group on 01/08/2016 "in order to ensure a smooth transition at the helm of the Group". Herbert Hainer, who had held the position since March 2001, agreed to relinquish his role on the board of directors effective on 30/09/2016, ahead of the planned expiry of his contract as CEO at the end of March 2017, said adidas AG.

"Kasper Rorsted is the perfect candidate to succeed Herbert Hainer as CEO of adidas AG. He has extensive international management experience, having held positions with high-calibre companies such as Oracle, Compaq and Hewlett Packard," announced adidas.

• Under the direction of Rorsted, Henkel Group saw its stock triple (€89.3 as of 18/01/2016) and its annual turnover increase by over a third to about €16.42bn in 2014.
