FIFA: Issa Hayatou delegates his role as CAF president to his two vice-presidents

"In agreement with the CAF Executive Committee and in accordance with the relevant provisions of Article 24 of the CAF Statutes, paragraphs 6 and 10, CAF president, Issa Hayatou, on Saturday 16/01/2016, authorised a delegation of powers to Suketu Patel and Almamy Kabele Camara, the 1st and 2nd vice-presidents of CAF respectively," announced the African Confederation, on 16/01/2016.

The Cameroonian Issa Hayatou, CAF president since 1988, has held the post of acting president of FIFA since 08/10/2015, the day Joseph Blatter (SUI) was provisionally suspended for 90 days by the FIFA Ethics Committee. Blatter was later suspended for 8 years from any activity related to football on 21/12/2015. Issa Hayatou is expected to hold the post of acting president of FIFA until the election of the Swiss' successor, at the Extraordinary FIFA Congress in Zurich (SUI), on 26/02/2016.
