FIFA: Gianni Infantino presents manifesto of 11 principles, includes a World Cup of 40 participants

Gianni Infantino, a candidate for FIFA president, published his manifesto for election to the head of the international federation, entitled "Taking Football Forward", on his campaign website, on 19/01/2016. Some of the measures presented in the manifesto include increasing the number of participants at the World Cup to 40 teams, looking into the possibility of organising the World Cup in an entire region of the world rather than in only one country and directly redistributing directly at least 50% of FIFA's revenue to its member associations.

The Swiss unveiled 11 principles "for the future of FIFA and the worldwide football community", divided into three pillars on which he based his "presidential action plan":
• Reforms and Good Governance
• Democracy and Participation
• Football Development

In his manifesto, Gianni Infantino, who was a member of the FIFA Reform Committee, also supports many innovations proposed by this Committee, which will be submitted to the FIFA Extraordinary Congress on 26/02/2016, the same day the successor to Joseph Blatter at the head of the international…
