FIFA: the Swiss and German federations announce their support for Gianni Infantino

"Gianni Infantino has the advantage of a thorough knowledge of European and world football. His long term experience as UEFA secretary general secretary and management skills will benefit FIFA in its reorganisation phase. We believe we are supporting the best candidate," said Peter Gilliéron, president of ASF and a member of the Executive Committee of UEFA, on 20/01/2016.

"In all likelihood, at the end of this week UEFA and its members will confirm their support for the candidacy of UEFA secretary general Gianni Infantino as FIFA president," announced the Swiss Federation on its website. Germany also supports the candidacy of Infantino.

"Gianni Infantino is the candidate of the Europeans and he is the best candidate. Through his work as UEFA secretary general he knows all the facets football, he has international networks and speaks six languages," said Reinhard Rauball, president of the DFB, on 20/01/2016.
