Germany: Tag Heuer launches a Bundesliga application for its smart watch

The Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer, the official timekeeper of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga (2015-16 to 2017-18), has launched an application dedicated to the German championships for its smart watch, on 22/01/2016.

The Bundesliga app was developed by the DFL specifically for smart watches and is available exclusively on the TAG Heuer Connected watch until the end of the 2015-16 season. The TAG Heuer Connected watch was developed in partnership with the Intel Corporation and Google.

The app provides live information on matches. The user can select up to three of their favourite teams. The data and information is submitted to them via the chronograph dial. When no match is taking place, a countdown tells the user the remaining time before the next Bundesliga game of his favourite team. The 18 Bundesliga clubs cumulatively generated €640.4m in sponsorship revenue during the 2013-14 season.

  • Tag Heuer is visible on the on the advertising boards and big screens during matches in both leagues leagues.
  • The LVMH group brand is also visible in the scores displays during TV broadcasts.
