Sports betting in France: "Our goal is to exceed €200m in bets during Euro 2016" (S. Pallez, FDJ)

"From a commercial point of view, Euro 2016 is an excellent opportunity for the sports betting activities of the Français des Jeux (FDJ), like all major sporting events. We are aiming to beat the record amount of bets recorded by the FDJ at a sporting event, which was established during the 2014 World Cup (€192m). This time we are hoping to exceed €200m. It also depends in part on the performance of the France team," explained Stéphane Pallez, the CEO of the FDJ to News Tank Football, on 22/01/2016.

The operator of the French national lottery became the first of six national partners of Euro 2016 on 02/10/2014. "I am expecting Euro 2016 to highlight the FDJ so that we will talk about the company as a partner of sport in France and our territories with our 32,000 outlets in France. I also hope that Euro 2016 will showcase the innovative nature of the FDJ with our digital platforms that allow us to communicate to all our audiences," said Stéphane Pallez.
