The cumulative net income of all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs for the 2014-15 season "was a negative €67m, compared to (a negative) €93m in 2013-14, an improvement of 28%," stated Frederic Thiriez, president of LFP in an email sent to Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 club presidents, and which News Tank Football and was able to consult on 26/01/2016.

"These results are mainly explained by controlling payroll, a decrease of €25m, and more revenue from transfers, up €42m," said Frédéric Thiriez.

Reduction of 46% in losses of Ligue 1 clubs (€56m in 2014-15 compared to €103m in 2013-14)

  • "These first cumulative results, which come before publication of the detailed report by the DNCG in March (2016), show a significant decrease in the deficits in Ligue 1.
  • In Ligue 1, the cumulative net losses are €56m, compared to €103m the previous season (2013-14), a reduction of 46% in losses.
  • In Ligue 2, the cumulative net losses amounted to €11m, compared to a cumulative net profit of €10m the previous season."
