Bundesliga: Hamad International Airport (Qatar) becomes a platinum partner of FC Bayern Munich

The operating company of the Hamad International Airport in Doha has becomes a platinum partner of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), announced the club on 27/01/2016.

"This partnership is another step in our internationalisation strategy. Part of our cooperation agreement is that we will jointly support social projects and a dialogue concerning critical community and political topics," said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of FC Bayern Munich. The agreement was made with the aim of promoting the destination, using the image of the club and its players. The airport, opened in April 2014, is visited by 30 million passengers annually. It is also the main base of the national company Qatar Airways.

The Hamad International Airport became the first Qatari partner of the German club, which generated €113.9m in sponsorship revenue during the 2014-15 season. The club notably spent their 2015-16 winter break in the Middle Eastern country.
