UEFA: report on the club licensing system ten years after it was put in place, in 2004-05

UEFA has published the report "Club licensing - 10 years on", which documents the evolution of the club licensing system since its introduction in 2004-05, on 25/01/2016. The document details the characteristics of the system for granting licenses and the way it functions. It also illustrates its evolution with the introduction of financial fair play.

"With the system now firmly in place, it is having a positive impact in terms of raising the level of professionalism in club management and supporting the financial stability of clubs as well as the integrity of competitions. This report shows that club licensing provides the perfect platform for the future growth and prosperity of European club football," said Gianni Infantino UEFA General Secretary, in the foreword of the report.

"In addition to explaining how the system works and what are its applications, the report presents the solutions to common problems of European football clubs, such as financial transparency, inadequate stadia, overdue payables and lack of youth investment.
