The German sports equipment manufacturer adidas will extend its partnership with Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA) for a record amount of up to €140 million per year (including clauses) until the end of the 2025-26 season, announced the Spanish sports newspaper Marca on 29/01/2016.

The extension is expected to be signed before the end of the 2015-16 season. The allocation made to the club would be more than three times the current contract, valued at €38m per year (with clauses reached) which is due to end on 30/06/2020.

The extension of the Real Madrid-adidas agreement would be higher than the current record allocation paid by adidas to Manchester United FC (Premier League). The German kit supplier, which replaced Nike for the 2015-16 season, signed an agreement with the English club valued at £750m (€980m) until 2024-25, or an average of £75m per year (€98m). The contract would also be larger than the new partnership between adidas and FC Bayern Munich, estimated at €900m, or €60m per year for the 2015-16 to 2029-30 period according to the German magazine Focus in April 2015.
