Netherlands: an Eredivisie video referee is filmed and answers questions from fans during the match

The video referee for the match between Feyenoord Rotterdam - SC Heerenveen (1-2, Eredivisie, Matchday 20) was filmed throughout the entire match by the cameras of the pay-TV channel Fox Sports, which broadcast the match on 28/01/2016. The images of the video referee, who answered live questions from Internet users, were accessible via the YouTube channel of the KNVB.

Video refereeing was tested by the KNVB during the 2013-14 season, with the "Arbitrage 2.0" system: video referees are installed in a mobile unit outside the stadium and can view replays of disputed actions. These video referees can not intervene and inform the referee in case of bad decision. The purpose of broadcasting images of the video referee during the match between Feyenoord - Heerenveen was to show how the "Arbitrage 2.0" system works.
