China: Ma Guoli leaves the presidency of Infront China for the vice-presidency of Le Sports

The Chinese Ma Guoli will leave the presidency of Infront China at the end of March 2016, announced the marketing and media rights agency Infront Sports & Media, on 28/01/2016. He will take up the role of vice-president of Le Sports, the sports branch of LeEco, the Chinese Internet and mobile streaming platform, according to local media.

Ma Guoli had been president of Infront China since January 2014, after having previously held the position of CEO since January 2009. The director of operations of Beijing Olympic Broadcasting -- the consortium in charge of broadcasting the 2008 Beijing Olympics -- Ma Guoli is also known for having founded the Chinese state TV channel CCTV-5 in 1995, the first dedicated sports channel in China.

Ma Guoli will be replaced as president of Infront China by David Dongwei Yang, the executive vice-president of the NBA since 2012 and the CEO of Wanda Sports China. Anne Zhao, CEO of Infront China since 20/04/2015, retains her role in the organisation.
