Chelsea: Mourinho to receive an annual salary of €12m

On the 03/06/2007, Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho was appointed manager of Chelsea FC (Premier League). He has signed a four year deal with the club, where he has already been manager from 2004-2007. He is expected to receive an annual salary of €12m.

This amount would represent an increase of 20% compared to his salary at Real Madrid (€10m). His various advertising contracts provide him with an annual €3.5m, a record for a football coach.

He succeeds Rafael Benitez, Napoli's new manager (Serie A) since 28/05/2013. The Spanish coach won the 2012/13 Europa League with Chelsea and earned them qualification for the Champions League 2013/14, finishing in third place in the Premier League. Jose Mourinho will be officially presented by the London club on 10/06/2013.
