Twitter: LaLiga is second most followed league with 2 million followers (Premier League: 10 million)

@LaLiga, the official Twitter account of LaLiga, which offers news content of the Liga BBVA (first division) and the Liga Adelante (second division), now has over two million followers on Twitter, announced the Spanish League on 03/02/2016.

Thus, the Liga BBVA is the second European Top 5 league to exceed the two million followers mark after the Barclays Premier League, which has 10.6 million followers, as of 03/02/2016.

Until 28/01/2016, the tweets were published alternately in two languages, English and Spanish, on the LaLiga account. Since then, the Spanish League has launched an English version of its Twitter account (@LaLigaEN), which has gained more than 10,000 followers in one week after its activation.

• LaLiga Spanish Professional Football League (formerly called the Spanish LFP) , the Bundesliga German professional football first division. 18 clubs.  and Ligue 1 French first division, 20 clubs.  all have designated English accounts.
• The Serie A TIM Italian first division. 20 clubs.  uses one account, with alternating tweets in Italian and English.
