Liga BBVA: Juan Carlos Ollero resigns from the presidency of Real Betis Balompié

Juan Carlos Ollero has resigned from the presidency of Real Betis Balompié (Liga BBVA), he announced at a press conference on 03/02/2016. He had been head of the Seville-based club since November 2014, when Real Betis played in the Liga Adelante.

Juan Carlos Ollero (67 years old) had previously been president of Sevilla CBD (basketball, Spanish Division 1) from 2005 to 2013. For several months Ollero had been in conflict with some members of the board of directors of Real Betis, and submitted his resignation from the presidency on 21/12/2015.

"Given the current institutional situation of the club, I have found no other solution than to resign as president of Real Betis. The club is owned by its shareholders and I believe that it is up to them to fulfil their responsibilities," said Juan Carlos Ollero on 03/02/2016.

• Real Betis Balompié are currently in 14^th place (22 points) in the 2015-16 Liga BBVA after 22 matchdays.
