Arsenal FC: "charity matchday" raises €325,000, including a day's salary from the players

Arsenal FC (Barclays Premier League) raised £250,250 (or €325,000) during their match against Manchester City FC (2-1, on Matchday 17 of the 2015-16 Premier League season) played on 21/12/2015, announced the club on 04/02/2016.

The match against Manchester City was the Arsenal FC "charity matchday" for the 2015-16 season. Every season, the London club sets up various operations during a match to raise funds for the club's Foundation. The players and the Arsenal staff were involved in scheme by providing a day's salary.

The funds are used to finance projects undertaken by the Foundation, established in 2012. In 2015, the "Arsenal Foundation" constructed pitches for refugees in Iraq and supported several schemes to aide the disabled and troubled people in North London.
