AS Roma: players display a mandarin message on their shirt to celebrate Chinese New Year

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) displayed a message written in Mandarin on the front of their shirts to celebrate Chinese New Year (on 08/02/2016, Year of the Fire Red Monkey) for their home match against UC Sampdoria (2-1, Serie A TIM Matchday 24), on 07/02/2016.

AS Roma do not have a shirt sponsor in 2015-16, which allowed the club to display the message "Fire Red Monkey brings good fortune and happiness" in Mandarin on the front of their shirts. The club had already posted a message in Mandarin to celebrate the Chinese New Year during the 2014-15 season, against Parma FC (0-0, Serie A TIM Matchday 23), on 15/02/2015.

"We were thrilled with the positive response from our fans in China last year and it is a pleasure for us to recognize the Chinese New Year again this season. We continue to grow our presence in China and look forward to bringing Roma closer to our fans there with more engaging initiatives soon," said Italo Zanzi, CEO of AS Roma.
