Reaching out to Asian supporters is the motive behind FC Barcelona's friendlies organised in Thailand (Bangkok on 07/08/2013) and Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur on 10/08/2013).

This is the first time that the Spanish club will play in Malaysia, a country with 779,910 FC Barcelona fans on Facebook (as of 26/05/2013), or the 15th largest number of Barcelona fans online (42.1m in total).

A friendly match in Shanghai (China), scheduled for the 04/08/2013 has been cancelled. Barca say they will rearrange this match for the near future, in order to be closer to their Chinese fans, which is "a priority" according to the club.

Since the 2012/13 season, La Liga has arranged matches every Sunday at midday in order to cater for Asian TV audiences (5 hour time difference between Spain and Thailand, 6 with China and 7 with Japan).
