Liverpool FC: following protests, the prices of most expensive tickets are frozen for two seasons

Liverpool FC (Premier League) have announced a price freeze on the most expensive tickets and season tickets for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, on 10/02/2015. As in 2015-16, the most expensive tickets will remain at $59 (€76) for Premier League matches at Anfield for the following two seasons. The price of the most expensive season ticket remains at £869 (€1,103).

This announcement follows the actions taken by fans of Liverpool FC after the announcement of the initial price increase for match tickets and season tickets for the 2016-17 season, on 02/02/2016. Approximately 10,000 Liverpool FC (Premier League) spectators left Anfield Stadium (45,500 seats) in the 77th minute of the match against Sunderland AFC (2-2, Premier League Matchday 25), on 06/02/2016. The fans were protesting against the increase in price of the most expensive tickets (excluding hospitality) at Anfield in 2016-17, as the club had fixed ticket prices at £77 (€100) for the most important matches. These actions were coordinated by Spion Kop 1906 and Spirit of Shankly, two Liverpool FC supporters' groups.
